Learn MoreUPDATED 11/13: The date for retiring TLS 1.0 and 1.1 has changed from November 14 to November 26 at 7AM ET. Please see new information below for more detail.
In our continuing efforts to improve security, support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will be discontinued on all eMoney services including our websites and APIs starting November 26, 2019.
eMoney will continue to support the modern TLS 1.2 security protocol. This means any legacy systems using outdated TLS standards should be updated before November 26.
What is TLS, and why is support for 1.0 and 1.1 being discontinued?
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the Internet protocol used to encrypt secure HTTPS connections. TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 are legacy standards with outdated cryptography that are vulnerable to attack.
The modern standard, TLS 1.2, is supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and used by most modern browsers, applications, and operating systems.
What action is required?
By November 26, 2019, ensure that all your systems support TLS 1.2. Discontinued protocols will be refused after this date.
This may require the following actions:
