eMoney Disabling TLS 1.0

In our continual efforts to improve security, we are disabling the TLS 1.0 protocol within eMoney on Friday, May 19. Not sure what TLS is or how this will affect you? Check out our FAQ below.

What is TLS?

TLS or “Transport Layer Security” is a protocol that provides privacy and data integrity by encrypting data between two applications – in this case, your browser and eMoney.

TLS is the most widely accepted security protocol used today for web browsers and other applications – and newer, more secure versions of TLS are periodically released, which is why eMoney will exclusively support the latest versions.

What is changing?

On May 19, eMoney will disable TLS 1.0 encryption protocol. We will continue to support TLS 1.1 and 1.2. So if you’re using an outdated operating system or browser, you should make sure to update your system to a browser or OS supported by our system requirements to ensure your browser is compliant.

Will I be affected?

If you are using an unsupported or outdated browser or operating system, you may be affected by this change.

How will I be impacted?

Once TLS 1.0 is disabled, customers using outdated browsers or operating systems that rely on TLS 1.0 will no longer work with eMoney. To avoid being affected by the change, review our system requirements and ensure you are using a supported OS and browser.

Why are we making this change?

When it comes to the security of your and your clients’ data, we’re dedicated to continually improving our security with the latest security protocols.  As new more advanced security features become available, it is in the best interest of security to discontinue outdated features.
