Foundational Planning is designed to help advisors create plans for clients with less complex needs and scale planning across their organizations. Jess Liberi, eMoney’s Head of Product, showcased Foundational Planning and its functionality during a product roadmap presentation for 1,000 of the industry’s top financial planning professionals at the annual eMoney Summit being held through Wednesday at the JW Marriott in Orlando.
Creating a financial plan for clients has long been thought of as complex and time consuming for advisors who choose to offer this service to their clients. In fact, 72 percent of advisors claim that creating a new financial plan is a long and tedious process, according to a 2017 Cerulli study1. Foundational Planning allows advisors to extend planning across their client base through a single platform that enables them to serve a variety of planning needs, while streamlining the process of creating financial plans.

Foundational Planning, which is scheduled for general availability in early 2019, provides a goals-based planning approach, focusing largely on retirement, education, spending goals and asset allocation. Life insurance analysis will be added later in 2019.
The tool offers an intuitive and scalable planning solution for both individual and corporate enterprise wealth managers, requiring fewer inputs from advisors and offering step-by-step guidance throughout the data gathering process. Simply put, advisors can produce more plans for more clients.
