Philadelphia, PA – eMoney Advisor (eMoney) announced today that the company’s CEO, Ed O’Brien, has been named one of the “Top 25 Most Influential” people in the independent financial advisory industry by Investment Advisor, a publication serving independent investment advisors and financial planners. The list was published online along with an article profiling O’Brien. O’Brien joins a highly esteemed group of former recipients, including Mary Jo White, Janet Yellen, Warren Buffett, Sallie Krawcheck, Bill Gross, as well as other world-renowned business leaders, innovators, investors and thought leaders.

“I’ve had the privilege of knowing and working with Ed for over eight years now,” said Mike Durbin, president at Fidelity Wealth Technologies. “While being named to this list is a tremendous honor, I’m sure it comes as no surprise to the many clients, colleagues, and partners who have worked with Ed over his storied career, and saw firsthand just how well-deserved is his reputation as both an innovator and a champion of advisor success. This honor is in recognition of those many accomplishments and I’m excited to be the first to officially congratulate him.”

With more than 30 years of financial and technology leadership experience, O’Brien has a long, successful track-record of developing and managing technology services for independent registered investment advisors, overseeing product management and development, and client service and support. Having served most recently as senior vice president and head of platform technology for Fidelity Institutional, in March O’Brien was appointed CEO of eMoney Advisor, replacing interim CEO, Mike Durbin. While with Fidelity, O’Brien was granted a patent for the technology design of WealthCentral®, a platform supporting registered investment advisors. He also launched AdvisorTech, introducing a technology platform for financial advisors in Japan, South Korea, and Germany.

“I’m honored and humbled to be named to this list,” remarked Ed O’Brien. In September, O’Brien will lead eMoney’s annual Advisor Summit where the firm’s full client network will have an opportunity to meet him and hear his vision and strategy for eMoney’s future. “But this recognition should be shared by the many hard-working and visionary individuals with whom I’ve worked, who have helped shape and support my passion for advisor technology. As I begin the next chapter in my career at eMoney, I look forward continuing the pursuit of innovation and technology leadership on behalf of the financial professionals and investors we serve.”
