LinkedIn’s Connected App is the Must Have for the 21st Century Advisor

Odds are that by now you have a LinkedIn profile—and if you don’t, you should. The work-centric social networking site has become a must-have for professionals in every field, bringing together the features that have made other social networks successful to make staying up-to-date with your business contacts as easy as scrolling through a news feed.

It’s well-known that LinkedIn has a great mobile offering for its core site, but one of its seven spin-off apps, Connected, has started quite a bit of buzz in the mobile tech sphere. Among its many features, the app is designed to make networking as easy as swiping up and down by linking to your pre-existing LinkedIn account and recommending potential contacts for you to connect with directly from the app.

In a blog post, the head of LinkedIn’s Relationship Products pointed to the excitement over one feature in particular, which is based on the technology of anticipatory computing. Basically, when you sync your contacts and calendars with Connected, you can turn on timely push notifications for information and reminders right before your meeting, including who the meeting is with, what they do, their interests, any shared connections you have and any notes you may have made about them.
