Recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal, Employees Attribute Silicon Valley-like Atmosphere and Collaborative Culture as Keys to Success

RADNOR, Pa. — (August 25, 2016) – eMoney Advisor has been named one of the “Best Places to Work” in Philadelphia in the large company category by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Founded in 2000, eMoney creates innovative financial technology (fintech) for financial advisors and their clients, including an industry-leading client portal and powerful data and analytics tools. Headquartered in the Philadelphia suburb of Radnor, eMoney’s 77,000-square-foot office is home to more than 300 of the brightest minds in the rapidly growing fintech space. The company’s San Diego office earned a similar nod from the San Diego Business Journal earlier this month.

“We are honored and excited to learn that our Radnor office has also been recognized as a best place to work. This latest award validates our commitment to our employees and celebrates the creative, fun culture we’ve built,” said Ed O’Brien, CEO of eMoney Advisor. “We believe that innovation is sparked from an atmosphere of creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Embedding these attributes into our culture directly translates to the cutting-edge wealth management technology we provide to advisors and their clients.”

Located in Delaware County adjacent to the well-known Main Line area, Radnor has become a hotbed for companies of all sizes in various industries with shopping, restaurants and recreation nearby. Along with being a short car ride from city limits, it’s easy to commute to Radnor using public transportation via train or bus. For added convenience, eMoney employees are even provided with a free shuttle between the train station and the office.

No matter the mode of transportation used to get to Radnor, all employees benefit from eMoney’s jaw-dropping office space. Modeled after tech firms in Silicon Valley, eMoney’s headquarters features state-of-the-art conference rooms named after Philadelphia neighborhoods, community working spaces with couches and flat screen TVs, multiple kitchen areas filled with snacks and beverages, a game area and a Segway. Other building amenities include a café open for breakfast and lunch and a fitness center.

“Our on-site technology paired with the fantastic work space here in Radnor fosters collaboration, communication and productivity,” stated Tessa Raum, Director of Human Resources at eMoney. “And while we certainly value team work, we also recognize that each of us has different strengths and talents that contribute to eMoney’s success.”

In addition to work activities such as training and company-wide Town Halls hosted by O’Brien, the Radnor office runs a number of special events throughout the year to further build camaraderie. Events include a monthly “Appy Hour,” picnics, intramural sports like kickball and soccer, charitable outings and even the company’s own “Wing Bowl,” modeled after Philadelphia’s well-known chicken wing challenge. The company also maintains a suite at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Another important component of eMoney’s winning culture is its comprehensive benefits package, which includes a robust health package (including a no-premium medical plan), free life and disability insurance, a matched retirement plan, generous paid time off, tuition reimbursement and competitive, pay-for-performance compensation with an annual bonus available to all non-commissioned employees. Employees can also take advantage of monthly wellness offerings, discounted pet insurance and a rich lineup of supplemental insurance to help plan for the unexpected.

eMoney and the 100 winning Philadelphia-based companies were selected through a two-part survey process. The first section measured workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, and the second assessed employee experience. A special issue of the Philadelphia Business Journal profiling the companies selected as the “Best Places to Work in Philadelphia” will publish August 26.
